Last Summer

Have you ever smelled summer?
well sure you have,

Remember when you used to play on the concrete and your feet steamed up,
that was summer.

Remember when you came home from the beach and you were dying to put the windows down in the car,
that was summer.

Remember how you go to the beach and you dive in, like you are trying to land a plane head first, that was summer.

Do you Remember when you played soccer your feet or shoes shaped into the tall cool grass,
that was summer.

Remember that time when we went to the farm and you could smell the rust off the tractors,
that was summer.

Remember when your mum takes you to the havelock pools and it is really hard to take your togs off,
that was summer

Remember when you could smell the pollen at in the bushes,
that was summer.

Remember when you go outside and you can smell the sunblock sizzling on your arms,
that was summer.
